Happy 2013 Everyone!
It’s been a cold start to the New Year. It was 12 degrees on the way to school today, the first day of the spring semester. I’m looking forward to another group of ceramics students ready to make things.
This year is looking busy and exciting already. I just sent work off to a group invitational exhibition of woodfired and soda fired ceramics in Saratoga Springs, NY at the Saratoga Clay Arts Center. The show will run from February 2 to March 2 and the other artists in the exhibition include Kenyon Hansen, Mitch Iburg, Lindsay Oesterritter, Justin Rothshank, and Tara Wilson.
I will also be included in an upcoming invitational exhibition titled “Tea Bowls: A Contemporary Approach” at the Gandee Gallery in Fabius, New York. That exhibition will run from March 8 to April 28.
On the publishing side, I have received word that my work will be part of two upcoming books, a book on woodfired ceramics and the Lark Books 500 Teapots Vol. 2. Unfortunately, I do not have publishing dates on those books yet.
And lastly, I am very excited that my Artist Invites Artists residency proposal for the Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts was selected for July 7th to July 19th. I will be working along with invited artists Julie Crosby, Trevor Dunn, Louise Harter, Kenyon Hansen, Liz Lurie, Doug Jeppesen, Dan Murphy, and Tara Wilson.
