2016 was a good year and at the same time a very difficult year for many of us. I was reminded that great art is most often made out of this struggle. Here’s to 2017 being an amazing year of artistic production and action! Professionally the fall and early winter were very good. I attended and presented at the international woodfired ceramics conference at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois. My piece, Carved Teapot, from the on-campus exhibition was purchased by the college and joins an outstanding permanent collection. My review/report from the conference was published in November by The Log Book. I also had work in two exhibitions at the Worcester Center for Crafts. New work, concepts, and materials continue to develop in my studio and I look forward to exhibiting that work during 2017.
